Installing the APK
Android only installs apps from outside Google Play after you allow whatever opened the file, usually Chrome or Files. Do this on the phone or tablet you want to play on. You need Android 8 or later, and the menu names differ a little between phone makers.
- Tap Download the APK. Chrome may warn that the file might be harmful. Tap Download anyway.
- Tap Open when it finishes, or find
flowerwar-latest.apkin the Files app under Downloads. - The first time, Android says your browser isn't allowed to install apps. Tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, and go back. (You can also do this ahead of time in Settings › Apps › Special app access › Install unknown apps.)
- Tap Install. Play Protect will probably say it doesn't recognize the app. It says that about anything not from the Play Store. Tap More details, then Install anyway.
- Open it. On your home screen it's called FL.WR.
You can switch Allow from this source back off afterwards. To update, download the APK again and install it over the old one. Your games and coins stay put.
Getting builds by email
- Open the Firebase sign-up page and enter the email you want builds sent to.
- Firebase emails you an invite. Open it on your Android phone and follow its steps to download the build.
- Firebase builds install the same way as the APK, so the Allow from this source and Play Protect steps above still apply.
After that, each new build arrives as an email with a link.
If something breaks
It's a beta, so it will. Builds change often, too. Email privacy@flowerwar.com and tell us what happened. On an iPhone or iPad instead? There's an iOS alpha on TestFlight. What the game itself collects is in the privacy policy.
